About

Mary Ann Reilly is a fine arts photographer born in Dublin, Ireland, and raised in New Jersey. Her work has been characterized as surreal and imagistic. Her areas of specialty include black and white, landscape, and photographic art. For her, art is about perspective and the capacity to recognize what has been present, often without knowing. Photography allows her the occasion to recast the familiar in new cloth, resituate understanding, and unsettle certainties. Her work has been selected for national and international juried shows, awarded honors, including several Best in Shows, and is exhibited in galleries in New York City, as well as ones in California, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Additionally, her photographs have been published in F-Stop Magazine, Dark Sky Magazine, descry magazine, Honey Land Review, Wild Violet, In the Mist, English Journal, Simply Haiku: A Quarterly Journal of Japanese Short Form Poetry, Digital Art, and Life Images. Mary Ann is a self-taught artist, who holds a doctorate from Teachers College/Columbia University. Mary Ann's work may be purchased unsigned through www.redbubble.com (reilly58) and signed work may be purchased through the online gallery, Soleyne or directly through Mary Ann.
