The Heat That Bakes Brains

Got mine a few blocks ago. I felt it
shrivel up. My head now filled
with cicada buzz, jingling tags,
mourning dove, traffic rumble.
My essence oozes from armpit.
Far cry of garbage men wafts to
my shrunken brain pan on
bird-choked breezes.
