Fisher Poets tells the story of a community of fishermen in Alaska and their passionate lyric writing about fishing. The community has two things in common: fishing and free verse poetry. For them, fishing is not only an essential food on their tables but also food for thought.

I once read that doing physical work in nature moves people to thinking about the important life issues. In the midst of repeating a simple act over and over, the workers gets involved in complicated mental work. And as the physical work gets simpler and more repetition, the thought becomes more important. This is certainly an interesting idea for a documentary, even though it might have been very challenging to produce.
