       The Sun and the Stars
        by Gerald Zipper
      Something terrible happened
        not the first time
an enraged sun crashed into the stars
        igniting the purple skies
        cracking open the heavens
        spilling rainstorm of mad fire
pouring psychopathic war on feverish people
who run about pulling their hair
        wailing in despair
        "I am innocent," they scream
        "burn the others" they demand
        but there are no others.
