How do you know you've seen a spirit? What if it's not like it is in the movies? What if you don't see any invisible person walking around? What if a noise that you think is the wind howling around the corners of your house is really a spirit? Would you know? If a ghost howls and nobody hears it, is it still a haunting? Is the ghost, as Ambrose Bierce says, an externatization of an inward fear? How can we know, if it's something that can't be measured with scientific means?
