The Moment
By Mary Ellen Walsh

The ultimate in overindulgence
is abstinence;
enjoy hedonism
in temperance.

Write a haiku, a ballad
a ballet —

about the joy,
one cold Spring day,
when you saw fallen petals
from a Japanese Cherry Tree —

and thought of pink snow.
